Inaccurate title[edit]

In Ireland, the Turf Club does not go by any other name. Calling it the Irish Jockey Club is ridiculous, and to use that as the article's title is beyond wrong. This article needs both a new title and an overhaul of its limited content. I have no idea how to change article titles and I'm no good at adding substantial referenced material. So, hopefully, others can be of use! Thanks.

I agree, although it did go by the name of The Jockey Club for 29 years in the 18th century! I had set up a redirect from Irish Turf Club, but I think if anything, it should be moved to Turf Club (Ireland), as they only refer to themselves as the Turf Club, and not the Irish Turf Club.
I'll initiate an WP:RM, then to Turf Club (Ireland).
The article could definitely be improved with cited material (mainly history and purpose) from Horseracing in Ireland, to begin with. Their own website doesn't provide much in the way of background, only current details of members and day-to-day business, but there's plenty about their history on ITM, HRI and a lot of the other organisations' websites, as well as old book collections (a lot of which are on Google Books). I've actually just moved it, since the move can't really be argued against! Wasechun tashunkaHOWLTRACK 18:54, 5 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
