SOHR[edit]

Please use Turkey's own records for casualties, not SOHR. Beshogur (talk) 19:39, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why? It´s a reliable source by most media outlets. Turkish claims/stats could be

cited or mentioned, but not relegating SOHR claims.Mr.User200 (talk) 22:19, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

First try to write normal. Second, can you tell exactly how a London based man gets all his info about Turkish casualties? from YPG websites? Beshogur (talk) 22:24, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You are not giving clear reasons to not include those claims, also thats something I cant answer.Mr.User200 (talk) 22:34, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Mr.User200. You said it. It's a claim, why shouldn't we rely on Turkish reports but SOHR? How does sohr know how many Turkish forces were killed? Beshogur (talk) 08:17, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
There have been multiple discussions regarding SOHR (which has an extensive network of hundreds of activists throughout Syria) over the years on Wikipedia and, taking into account that reliable media outlets like Reuters, AFP, BBC and others regularly cite it and called it an authoritative source on Syria, its been deemed a reliable source as well, regardless of our own personal opinions regarding it. However, the proper course of action in this situation would be to present both the Turkish and SOHR figures, as per Wikipedia's policy on neutrality, and we leave it up to our readers to decide which to believe. They might be reliable about reporting, but I sincerely doubt that they give more accurate info than Turkey itself. Sounds ridiculous. Beshogur (talk) 18:51, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Turkey is one of the combatants/belligerents in the conflict, so, just like Syria, or Russia, or the SDF, or any other combatant in this conflict, they are not considered completely reliable. That's why we present multiple POVs and don't exclude one over the other. EkoGraf (talk) 16:06, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Turkish Casualties on 27 February.[edit]

One question, the lower number stands as 22 killed, according to a Turkish province (Hatay) governor. SOHR states 34 killed and many wounded. Now A Turkish media report 58 dead and over 100 wounded.Mr.User200 (talk) 22:31, 27 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Numbers dont fit.[edit]

I recomend stop using Reuters, and only use Turkish MOD numbers for lower numbers and SOHR for higher ones. This is a mess actually.Mr.User200 (talk) 20:43, 3 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
