Merge proposal[edit]

Guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements state that ideally the civil parish should be the catch-all article, avoiding single line articles on every village and landmark within the parish.

Therefore, I suggest that villages within the parish with a one or two sentence article, ie Hickstead, West Sussex to be merged and redirected to this parish article. ++ MortimerCat (talk) 17:00, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed - I've proposed the merger.Topo122 (talk) 11:45, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've merged the pages - first time I've done a merge, so I hope I've done it correctly. Topo122 (talk) 16:29, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Seems fine Murgatroyd49 (talk) 17:00, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Governance[edit]

When revising the 'Governance' section, I avoided including names of MPs or councillors, as doing so would create a maintenance problem. Names of MPs can be found on the relevant, linked, constituency pages (which needed updating when I looked at them); names of councillors can be found through the references.
