5x expanded by The Rambling Man (talk). Self-nominated at 11:46, 15 July 2021 (UTC).[reply]

Substantial expansion, on fine sources, no copyvio obvious. I like the hook idea, and will approve it if you want that wording, but would prefer the bolded title at the beginning, and no sea of blue of the player and the penalty kick named after him. I may be the only one who had to think hard what could be meant, sorry then. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:17, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well I'm fine with the wording, and there's no sea of blue as there's an unlinked "'s" in there. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 12:23, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The nominator's wish is my command. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:48, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Add alt text to the infobox's image.
  • Add a hyphen between "round robin".
  • Add a hyphen between "52nd minute".
  • "although match" → "although the match"
  • "Kiev" - shouldn't this be "Kyiv"?
  • "held the Central Stadium" → "held at the Central Stadium"
  • "West Germany were" → "West Germany was"
  • "the lead in the midway" → "the lead midway"
  • Ping when done. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 16:49, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Some Dude From North Carolina all done bar Kyiv (British English spells it Kiev) and the West Germany plural (again, British English so this is just fine). Cheers for the review. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 19:15, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Additional source[edit]

Noticed in the FA review there was a comment on the lack of Czechoslovak sources. Found this one from Rudé právo which is worth reviewing and adding to the article.

Curious fact[edit]

The final 4 matches played in Yugoslavia (semi-finals, 3/4 place & final) all ended draw after 90 minutes and required extra-time.78.133.79.177 (talk) 13:10, 11 June 2022 (UTC)GusMalta[reply]

Estadio Metropolitano?[edit]

When the article mentions that Spain and West Germany played the quarterfinals, the game set in Spain was played in the Estadio Metropolitano, just to notice the stadium was built in 1994, I think you mean Estadio Vicente Calderon that was the stadium of Atletico de Madrid at the time and it was referred in the article of the UEFA Euro 1976 quarterfinals as the stadium where the game was made. Who won?[edit]

Erm, who won? Completely convoluted opening section to get round to the most important fact, the winners. 2A00:23C8:4F05:9001:4362:E524:CE7C:AF9 (talk) 20:34, 7 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
