The importance of this organisation is made evident by the activities and work that it has undertaken since its inception in 1989. A large number of international training seminars, working groups and conferences have been organised, involving a significant number of youth living in conflict- or post war regions.
In 2005, UNOY Peacebuilders was specifically invited by the Municipality of The Hague to move its headquarters to The Hague in the context of the development of The Hague as the International City of Peace and Justice.
