Copyright violations[edit]

due to serious cut and paste promotional copyright violations from the university's website, I have stubbed the article. It will need to be rebuilt using wikipedia editor's own words and third party sources. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 20:08, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't examined the history, but this had clearly been re-expanded as promotion. I have gone through it tightening it up. Yngvadottir (talk) 17:58, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

FIPI[edit]

The mysterious FIPI is the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry. Putting this here in case anyone finds enough material to write it up or wishes to add it to a DAB page. Yngvadottir (talk) 17:58, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Tidying up this page[edit]

Hello – I will attempt to undertake a thorough tidying up of this page over the coming days.

The contents in this wiki are rife with unsubstantiated or dubiously sourced claims. I will predominantly focus on removing content that doesn’t abide by WP:PROMOTION and WP:PRIMARY guidelines.

Should any users, including those with WP:COI, want to recommend properly-sourced content to include, please feel free to respond to me here. Suggestions from other experienced editors will also be most welcome.

Thank you. HEwonk (talk) 14:45, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have finished tidying up this article. Alongside fixing the subheadings and grammar, I have fixed the intro in line with WP:LEAD, removed content that was in violation of WP:PRIMARY, WP:SOAP and WP:PROMO, and deleted any material published with no citations.
If any users with WP:COI want to make additions, feel free to let me know. I also welcome feedback from wiki editors.
Thanks, HEwonk (talk) 17:24, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Non-profit status and conflict of interest editing[edit]

The situation with Pearl Academy and University of Petroleum and Energy Studies is rather complex. While they are owned by Global University Systems, their charters under the education societies which run them stipulate that all profits must be plowed back into the schools. Thus, money cannot be directly realized from the owners' investment. They were and remain non-profit. This is one of the main reasons Laureate sold them. GUS gets around this by "partnering" with the schools instead to provide services and access to programs in other institutions for which GUS is paid through GUS Global Services. I have edited the article to reflect this.

I note that there has been a fair amount of to-ing and fro-ing in this article. Please note that if you have any connection to the institutions and companies in question, either personal or professional, this constitutes a conflict of interest. You should (a) declare it and (b) propose changes here on the talk page for non-involved editors to make if appropriate. Voceditenore (talk) 14:50, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
