Article Expanded[edit]

Disposition of the Ship[edit]
The online records leave a huge gap in the ship's retirement from service in 1947 and her being scrapped in 1955. The litigation and appeal went on at least until 1951. She certainly wound have to have had a refit in order to return to passenger service. Postwar timetables for Eastern Steamship do not show an SS Adacia. There was only one reference to the ship being scrapped in 1955 - it may indeed be possible that she remained layed up for 8 years. Mariepr (talk) 04:53, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
