Requested move[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: No move. As no competing article currently exists, or is likely to exist judging by the comments, additional disambiguation isn't required. Nor is there strong consensus to avoid the usual practice in this case. Cúchullain t/c 14:22, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Under the Sun (song)Under the Sun (Cheryl Cole song) – Requires disambiguation from Under the Sun by Black Sabbath per "covered by article" ( although the Black Sabbath song is not covered particularly well in the article, but that's another issue, it is covered in Google Books, which the Cheryl Cole song isn't ) The two songs get equal plain Google coverage, and despite the amusement value of misdirecting thousands of Black Sabbath fans to a Cheryl Cole article, the current title fails WP:DAB and WP:CRITERIA. • oppose, in light of BDD's comments i've changed my comment from support to oppose. if the other songs were "so notable" why do they not have pages. The existence of other songs alone does not mean that disambiguation is required (a hat note could resolve this). → Lil-℧niquԐ 1 - { Talk } - 16:15, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Because non-singles, highly notable or not, are usually are on multi-song articles, i.e. "album articles". Is this 1 of 10 Under the Sun (song)s really more notable than all the other nine put together? In ictu oculi (talk) 11:49, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. I was thinking of the Buzzcocks song of the same name. --Richhoncho (talk) 18:28, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose in the absence of another article by this name. Why not just create an article on one of the other songs if they're notable? --BDD (talk) 16:11, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi User:BDD - we do that for Beatles album songs everything on A Hard Day's Night (album) is blue-linked, but isn't there a middle ground, Google coverage says the Black Sabbath song is as notable as the Cheryl Cole one, but its in an album. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:49, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Under the Sun / Under the Moon has "Under the Sun" as a song, and it is a single, so therefore is a likely target, as singles and songs are treated identically on Wikipedia. And almost every album called "Under the Sun" has a song by that title, and we have articles on those albums. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 05:11, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose as further disambiguation is unneeded. If another article is created, then we'll talk. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 23:35, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, there is no strong indication that this song is particularly more notable than the other songs with the same title. olderwiser 11:06, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is there an explanation as to why the 1950s-set video to this song prominently features a modern phone box and cashpoint at the beginning? Jim Michael (talk) 16:37, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Under the Sun (Do As Infinity song) exists. In ictu oculi (talk) 03:56, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You moved the article titled Under the Sun / Under the Moon to that title. Barring some evidence that it's a better title I'll probably revert that move to the previous, WP:NATURALDIS title. Given the above RM discussion this article shouldn't be moved without a new consensus.--Cúchullain t/c 04:07, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've put it at Under the Sun / Under the Moon, but it's pretty clear from the fact that the second variant/extension song wasn't included in the album, doesn't get a place in compilations, and is numbered 2 and 4 on the single that in western terms this is a B-side. In ictu oculi (talk) 04:16, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at the article, also says the single is a "double A side" featuring both songs. It will take some sources to sort it out, methinks. At any rate, feel free to start an RM for this article if you want to move it; I haven't looked too closely yet but I think a reasonable case could be made either way. [edit] It seems that the Japanese single does contain a song of this title. Regardless of where that article ends up, this one should probably be moved per WP:INCDAB. It should go through a formal RM due to the previous discussion.--Cúchullain t/c 04:42, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Listening to the two side by side on Youtube explains why the second song isn't on the album or the compilation album, it's some kind of rehash/medley/extension of the main song. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:44, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
