Upr[edit]

What does "type Upr" mean in : "Set-valued force laws of type Upr"? Engineer editor (talk) 18:53, 8 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Observations and suggestions for improvements[edit]

The following observations and suggestions for improvements were collected, following expert review of the article within the Science, Tecnology, Society and Wikipedia course at the Politecnico di Milano, in June 2020.

"A comment on ""... while the second one based on the non-smooth theory. "" as opposed to continuum mechanics. First, the term ""non-smooth theory"" seems a bit too vague to me, probably it is better to rewrite as ""... while the second is based on non-smooth contact dynamics"". Or: ""... while the second is based on complementarity constraints"", or even ""on variational inequalities"" for a broader generalization. However, one can still argue that ""continuum mechanics"" does not exclude non-smooth dynamics / complementarity constraints. Probably I would rather split into ""smooth dynamics"" (including physical models like Hertz etc,, penalty approaches, regularized forces models etc.) vs ""non-smooth dynamics"".

Finally, is it worth mentioning NCP LCP CCP etc are special cases of Variational Inequalities (VI)?

Note: ""Legged robot"" would be better non capitalized, ""legged robots"". "
