This is stub-class, but what else is needed?

Paul Desmond[edit]

The label of the original single (at least the CBS one in Britain, where it made the Top 20) had "The Dave Brubeck Quartet", but Desmond's alto is not heard on the recording. Is he doing the handclaps? Rothorpe (talk) 17:57, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Man With The Golden Arm[edit]

I have corrected (deleted) the assertion, here and on the movie's own article, that this song was the opening title theme for "Man With The Golden Arm". That movie predates the composition of "Unsquare Dance" by six years, and the two songs don't sound anything like each other. Well, they both have drums and horns in them! The Google Doodle of 2013 for the movie does indeed feature "Unsquare Dance" for some unknown reason. The Otto Preminger movie's title theme was composed by Elmer Bernstein and is famous itself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hv0gi730q60 (another good version is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RZLiDarw70) and see http://www.tcm.com/mediaroom/video/197521/Man-With-The-Golden-Arm-The-Original-Trailer-.html.Dicirnah (talk) 19:06, 5 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ricochet Part 2, Tangerine Dream[edit]

A rather vivid intermezzo somewhere in the central section of Ricochet Part 2 (Tangerine Dream, 1975) has a certain thing from Brubeck's Unsquare Dance (it's more-or-less the same sort of rhythm). 2A02:1812:151F:5500:A5FE:11E7:1CF9:65E6 (talk) 07:28, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
