there is no such city as Gothenburg in Sverige (the country you insist on calling Sweden), only English speaking idiots call Göteborg "Gothenburg". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.225.196.192 (talk) 11:39, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there and Welcome to Wikipedia, please sign your posts in the future. And this is the english Wikipedia and Gothenburg is a well known name for Göteborg in english and will therefore always be used. --Krm500 16:38, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yet, it clearly says that the US navy and many English speaking newspapers refer to the city as Göteborg, not Gothenburg. Therefore I think it should be as Göteborg.

Capital?[edit]

This is rather conflicting. In the paragraph it says that Göteborg is the capital, yet when you have the table to the right, it states Vänersborg.

Never mind, I just fixed it myself.

Spelling[edit]

Why is Östergötland County spelled without an "a", whereas Västra Götaland County is spelled with an "a", although both derive from Götaland? 80.71.142.166 (talk) 14:11, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
