That last sentence, about Valencia being the first new street circuit since Phoenix '89. That's possibly not true, because one could state that the Albert Park Circuit is a street circuit. It is in a city, on public roads, albeit in a park rather than truely downtown.

New street circuit[edit]

Albert Park is deemed semi-street, as only part of it uses public roads according to the Official Formula 1 website squidged 14:33, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Albert Park is all public roads- i'm from Melbourne and have driven around the circuit many times, the only non public area is pit lane.Zepher25 14:59, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dates Announcement?[edit]

What is the usual cycle for announcing F1 dates for next year? When will we hear about Valencia? I heard this was going to be the last race on the calander in 2008. Silas Talbot 20:12, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dates usually get announced around summer/autumn time, so officially we'll have to wait until around end of August (that's when the '07 calendar was announced last year). But, apparently it will be near the end of the year, which would make sense if there's 2 races in the same country, much like it was with Italy/San Marino. I don't know if it will be the last race, but could be the last European race of the year. Somewhen around September time for the race I reckon. squidged 15:43, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Which streets[edit]

Since the route is drawn, should/could there not be a list of streets with it? Now it doesn't mean very much. Where should I put my sleeping bag? -DePiep 13:54, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I live in Valencia. I will take my references from [this site]. Most of the circuit (from number 25 to number 12) is inside the port, mainly in what's called Port America's Cup. From number 25 to number 1 the street is Avenida del Ingeniero Manuel Soto. From number 1 to 2 is Calle del Doctor J J Dómine. From 2 to 5 the track bends around the former America's Cup Syndicates bases, in fact driving through their former waterfronts. From 5 to 6 it's Plaza de la Aduana. From that point to the bridge it has no name as it used to be a park. The bridge has a quite interesting story as it was concieved to be in a different location and for another use. From number 10 to 12 the circuit uses one of the port's access roads. If should have a name, but I couldn't find it yet. By the way, the bridge was originally placed about were T16 and T17 are now found. From number 12 to 14 it's a rond-point and another segment of Avenida del Ingeniero Manuel Soto. Then it comes the difficult part: from 14 to 25 the circuits goes through a part of Nazaret district. Its a former industrial area full of empty derelict factories and warehouses. They've been covered with canvass (by the Ayuntamiento de Valencia). Bend number 17 is beside El Grao cemetery (probably the only local structure easily visible on TV in this area, that has not been covered by helicopter cameras). I feel that my English is not good enough as to write a wikipedia essay, but in case you need any more information or sources, don't hesitate to contact me on es:Usuario:B25es. Lap record?[edit]

The lap record is listed as 1:38.683 by Timo Glock in 2009 in the infobox, but as 1:37.587 by Sebastian Vettel in 2010 in the layout section. Which is correct? The record listed on Formula1.com is Glock's. Also, can the lap record only be set during a race? Mixs (talk) 13:30, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
