Original research[edit]

This excellent article stub about a particular locomotive is all original research. The article has no references that indicate the existence of the locomotive or any of the details, apparently painstakingly collected since 2008. The article fails WP:V. This particular locomotive is partially described in a letter [1]. Evidently its existence is enough to ascribe notability WP:N. The article ought to say why it is notable and deserves to be in an encyclopedia. Seven years should be long enough to add these details to the article. It is up to the editor adding text to provide references. Rhadow (talk) 14:00, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We're in a bit of WP:SOFIXIT territory here, Rhadow. The locomotive is clearly notable, with coverage including multiple books and The New York Times. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 03:09, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
