Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that Vancouver Hospital and Health Sciences Centre be merged into Vancouver Coastal Health, since the former is defunct and has been absorbed into the latter. Ng.j (talk) 22:59, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that Vancouver Hospital and Health Sciences Centre be merged into Vancouver Coastal Health. I propose that a separate page be created for George Pearson Centre (GPC), which is not a hospital but instead is a long term care facility for adults with disabilities. I don't know much about editing Wikipedia but I know a lot about this facility. While GPC is owned and operated by Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), it has a distinct identity and online presence from VCH. The residents there have their own website http://www.pearsonresidents.org and the facility is in the news regularly, including regarding its farm bcfoodsecuritygateway http://farmerson57th.wikispaces.com As well, GPC is a member of the Marpole community, which is currently planning for major redevelopment. request edit[edit]

 – Moved to relevant talk page from user talk. Seagull123 Φ 00:54, 30 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I tried this earlier and I didn't go about it correctly so my request was denied. I haven't requested an edit before and I clearly made an error. My apologies.

I'm requesting an update to the Vancouver Coastal Health article. On the side bar on the right, our former CEO Mary Ackenhusen is still noted. I am requesting that this be changed to our current Interim CEO and President Vivian Eliopoulos.

Here is a link to the article I'm referring to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vancouver_Coastal_Health

For your reference, here is a link to the Vancouver Coastal Health website for citation: http://www.vch.ca/about-us/leadership/senior-executive-team

I hope I did this right! Thank you.

Hi anonymous user 142.231.110.50, I've moved your edit request here, because it is a better place for your request to be for it to get noticed. If you have any other questions/comments about your request, you should leave them here. Thanks . Seagull123 Φ 00:54, 30 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

UPE tag[edit]

I have tagged the article for undisclosed paid, because there is a huge amount of promotional and "about us" type contents designed to favor what organization wishes to have on here rather than what's encyclopedic. A list of store location or other information that essentially uses the article as an extension of their own website is unsuitable. Up until March 2009, three or more WP:SPA or almost SPA accounts were used to a lot of their contents remain. Those accounts are Liak~enwiki (talk · contribs), VCHcomm (talk · contribs), and vchimage (talk · contribs). The article needs massive trimming so that its not an "alternate publicity site" for the org. Graywalls (talk) 07:51, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"Huge amount"? Wow, this is damn nearly stub length! And "store location"? I think they call these "stores" "hospitals".
I completely disagree with this characterisation of the article -- except it does seem that the accounts to which you refer are SPAs -- and I intend to remove this tag. I have no connection to VCH other than living in their area, but they are a public body about which people need information. (That was why I was here!) If people really do want the "about us" type information with which you allege this article is filled, they can just follow the link to their website, as is the case for every other organisation with an article on Wikipedia. As far as I can see this article just presents the bare level of encyclopaedic information.
As for the SPAs, if that's your bugbear then I suggest you take that up in some other venue. Littering articles with unnecessary tags isn't helpful.
