"Taiwanese-American"?[edit]

Why does this article state that she is "Taiwanese-American"? She was born in California. That makes her American. It doesn't matter if her parents are from Taiwan. Serena Williams' page doesn't say she is an "African-American" or "Black American" tennis player. And more pointedly, Sofia Kenin, who was actually born in Moscow, is not identified as a "Russian-American" tennis player. It just doesn't seem necessary to me to identify Vania as Taiwanese-American. If the purpose is to highlight her race, I would think the picture of her should make it obvious. 99.126.111.91 (talk) 03:24, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Descended from categories[edit]

I've removed the Chinese category given that she's American-Taiwanese. If someone makes the argument that being Taiwanese is being Chinese, they should move to have the "people of Taiwanese descent" category deleted as a fork from Chinese ethnicity. Postponement of retiring?[edit]

Vania King will play the Abierto Zapopan Tennis Open in pair with Caroline Dolehide, so probably she has decided to postpone the retirement.
