Varsity Rugby[edit]

I think that this senetnce: "The Varsity Rugby competitions are unique in that they implement strict rules which help to ensure that only students of the relevant universities compete and also that all games take place on the universities' campuses" should be removed, or at least clarified.

As far as I understand the Varsity Cup has allowed players who are not students. Also, isn't the UCT stadium off campus? Crazydude22 (talk) 14:26, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. According to the rules - see point 4 for eligibility - "4.2 At least Sixteen (16) players of the twenty-three (23) players on match day must be bona fide registered students at the university for which they are playing." (the definition of a "bona fide student" in point 4.9). Regarding venues, Rule 3 merely states "The dates, venues and fixtures will annually be determined by the Executive Committee.". I changed the wording a bit to reflect this and added the reference. TheMightyPeanut (talk) 18:45, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
