Is this from modern works of fiction or from ancient beliefs in demonology? (Either way needs references). RJFJR 16:35, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Agreed, I'm finding all sorts of vague comments without references splattered across many of the individual demon (demons from The Goetia anyway) pages, it's disturbing. --Demonslave 07:38, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Some references

I've found some external links that can be used as references. They are alledgely taken from original manuscripts found at the British Museum Library, but i have yet to confirm those references.

Ars Goethia

Pseudomonarchia daemonum

This are old manuscripts references. The oldest I've found, and the best-known in occult circles. There are some others. But the hole Ars Goethia is taken from the Lemeton, which is the first link.

I've compared some of the info in the article to those references, and have found it to be very similar, although there is some info in the article not found in those references. I've yet to find some other references

About "Depiction" section

I've found that this is one of the weakest parts of this article. I've already tagged it with an unreferenced, but I've also find some confusing content. For instance, the first depiction (and old man riding a crocodile) is the same one of the demon Agares, who is also in the Ars Goethia. Using the Legemeton as reference (given that it is the only know text where Vassago appears), one can confirm that in no way Vassago is depicted that way, and that the depiction given is that one of Agares contained in the same text. It is also the same depiction atributed to Agares in the Pseudomonarchia (although Vassago does not appear in there). I'm going to try to find the second depiction, but i can presume is also borrowed from some other demon. Also, I see no relevance in the first paragraph of the section. Now I have a serious moral problem. I've found the source for the hole "Depiction" section. But I'm not sure I should credit it. The source is not serious. It is a personal webpage claiming that some living wizard has contacted the whole Goetia demons. I will minor edit the article to add the website reference... but I still boast that I'm working on a mayor edition that can as well put aside the content find in the "Depiction" section. --200.65.7.26 05:11, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Seeking mayor edit

Okey... I have referenced most of the content of this article... but yet I feel something is wrong... there are still some quotations needed and one section seems just out of the blue... I've already edit the post to comply with Wiki standars... ergo, I've also removed the cleanup tag... although, something still seems wrong... and it bothers me... despite the third reference, I feel the article needs cleanup... so I gotta do something... I've been working on this threee nights straigt so I've made some considerations,.. I've tried to contact the contributos of this articles... but no response... so if by this Monday midnight, someone hasn't edited the unreferenced parts, I WILL delete them... Also i will make some MAYOR edits in order to clarify why I put the originalcontent tag, and trying to clean up everything that isn't supported by strong sources... Although I will keep weak sources... questioning them...

Related books section

I just reverted an edit in that section. The edition added content to the Related Books section, which i found useless. So, as im still seeking a mayor edit, and as I may as well remove the hole section, I've reverted the edit. Below I leave the reference to the book that was added, in case anyone wants to put it back.

I thought Agares was the old guy on a crocodile, not Vassago. I've only heard of him as a Dragon.

Encyclopedic tone

it doesn't strike me as particularly encyclopedic to talk about occult beliefs as though they were factual. I appreciate that this is a belief or a practice or a lifestyle for some, but for the small minority among us who don't believe that Vassago can be persuaded to tell us the future, perhaps we could reign in the tone of the article somewhat? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.138.133.187 (talk) 06:57, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Hello there anon, first of all, be nice and sign your post... that means adding four tildes at the end of your comments. Second of all, sorry, but I'm reverting your edits. There is no "dubious" content in the introduction and the factual accuracy of the article is in no way disputable. I think you missed to read the part that says "in demonology". I've worked in this article for over a year and I think that by stating that this is in the field of demonology lets the reader know that in no way we are implying this "demon" exists. The sources are old manuscripts found in the Sloane collection of the British museum. I will revert all your anon edits if you fail to abstract your own skepticism from them.
