Note: There are other citations that I did not quote in the article because there is a dispute regarding the name of the Director. Encyclopedia of Indian Cinema by Ashish Rajadhyaksha and Paul Willemen says (Oxford University Press, New Delhi, 1998 edition) that the director is A. S. A. Sami. Even the IMDB entry says so. Most probably the IMDB info was based on the above book which is available in English. However, I prefer to quote Film News Anandan's database as authentic information that the director is A. K. Velan. Anandan was involved and active during that period, in Tamil cine field. Further, the book Thiraikalanjiyam, which data is based on film credits and song books, also gives A. K.
