Letter by creator[edit]

Hi there,

I created the page as a translation from the German page, feeling it is relevant as there appear to be primarily two associations worldwide that group together people working in the audio industry: the AES and the VDT. I used to be a member in the AES before joining the VDT, which in my opinion is more practically oriented, not as theory-laden as the US-based organisation and it's publications. Having a German language page only is not sufficient in my opinion as it restricts the accessibility of the online resource. In the course of writing up the article I added the paragraph on the award and medal of honour (in the English and German language entry), one of the reasons being that it might be a possibility to expand upon the https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby page that currently contains a citation only.

Disclaimer: I am a Tonmeister VDT and have recently been awarded a Goldener Bobby, but really, if I happen to chance upon an omission in Wikipedia I feel obliged to do something about it.

Regards,

Andrew Levine

Third-party references...[edit]

...are somewhat hard to come by, at least those that are easily verified online free-of-charge. I linked to the association register and a free online register for now and removed the third-party sources tag, plus a project report by major German broadcaster WDR (in German, unfortunately, but a source is a source is a source). Disclaimer: I'm also a member and volunteer at VDT. Nettings (talk) 13:57, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
