Name[edit]

The owl is said to be named for Eugène Louis Bouvier. The generic name is from Greek skotos meaning darkness and -opia meaning a condition of sight.^[1] Chiswick Chap (talk) 14:22, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
