Versace on the FloorVersace On The Floor – There is no reason for it to have "on" an "the" with small lowercase, not even the album liner notes is like that. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 15:54, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It makes no sense not moving this. No other titles in his discography are different from what's written in the CD or iTunes, so why should this one be? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 00:17, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
See MOS:CT. Wikipedia uses its own MOS, no matter what the official capitalization is. Hddty. (talk) 17:03, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Our style is not to capitalise in this way. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:51, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Will be reviewing this. Sorry it has taken you too long awaiting a reviewer, thanks for your patience. A bit of disclaimer: I have never reviewed an article about a song before, so apart from the fundamentals at WP:GACR, please let me know which policy at WP:ALBUMS I'm missing along the way. You've gone incognito (talkcontribs) 04:15, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@You've gone incognito: thanks for picking this up. I'l try to do my best, if you take a look at some FA articles, some policy on the songs and go section by section you should be fine. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 19:36, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Prose review[edit]

Lede
  • Second and third sentences in the third paragraph are undue material for the lede, please remove. Change pronoun 'He' to Mars in "He performed Versace on the Floor" afterwards.
Background and development
  • In September 2014, Mars tweeted, "Now it's time to start writing chapter 3", hinting he was working on new music. Tweak sentence into: In September 2014, Mars hinted he was working on new music with the tweet "Now it's time to start writing chapter 3".
  • Both Italian fashion house, Versace, and designer Donatella Versace, who has dressed the singer, inspired the song. Ditch those unnecessary commas separating Versace
David Guetta remix version
  • respecting the music Mars created, without changing his vocal. remove comma
Release and production
  • All good
Composition
  • All good, but remove the italics from "soundtrack" in the link "Dirty Dancing soundtrack"
Critical reception
  • "Versace on the Floor" received positive reviews from music critics. Unsourced
  • I think this section gives undue weight to positive critiques too much, negative critiques are not given their due weight. There should be a reasonable balance between positive and negative critiques about the subject to make this section more neutral. See WP:RECEPTION for guide on how to write this section better.
  • Removed italics from "soundtrack" in the link "Beverly Hills 90210 soundtrack"
Just a note here, it is always unsourced such setence as it is an overview of the section, I will try to find more reviews, I search a lot, but I won't promsise anything, most critics enjoyed the song. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 11:08, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

1 → this is it.

Music video
  • To show her appreciation and friendship with Mars, designer, Donatella Versace posted an Instagram video featuring the chorus of "Versace on the Floor". Remove the comma after "designer"
Live performances
  • Italicized The Late Late Show
  • Nick Williams writing for Billboard called it "electrifying" and found Mars' vocals to be "powerful" and "emotive". Separate "writing for Billboard" with commas.

Will check to verify content against the sources when I return. You've gone incognito (talkcontribs) 08:11, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Source review[edit]

I've reviewed all content against the sources, everything is paraphrased and verifiable; I'm assuming good faith to offline and non-English sources.

Image and audio review[edit]

All good, everything is licensed and illustrates the subject well.

There are no more problems with the article so I'm happy to say that I am now passing this GAN. With a little more work, this should easily go up to FA too. You've gone incognito (talkcontribs) 05:50, 26 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@You've gone incognito: Thank you for reviweing the article in such a short amount of time. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 12:33, 26 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
