Question

Anyone know why South Vietnam's results aren't included in Vietnam's listing? To me this sounds a lot like the German situation, there all West Germany's results (in World Cups, European Cups etc) are listed on Germany national football team as being Germany's, but here South Vietnam's good results in Asian Cup aren't listed.

The Vietnam's government VFF have never recognized the South Vietnam's results. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hanh mad (talkcontribs) 04:54, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Copy edit needed

The History section is badly in need of some copy editing. To give an example, during a quick read through I spied this gem of a phrase, no doubt due to Google Translate: "Under the direction of coach and cum player Nguyen Thong, who is considered mermaid..." dragfyre_ʞןɐʇc 17:39, 15 September 2017 (UTC)

Unnecessary sections and tablets must be removed

Some of the table records are not needed, such as VFF cup history, history of attended sport events ,Fifa ranking graph and others non vital information. I will remove them to keep the page short, simple and standard. If anyone wants to revert my changes, discuss first. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Albertpda (talkcontribs) 01:45, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

That's not how it works, Albertpda. You must gain consensus here first, before making those sweeping changes. Softlavender (talk) 01:52, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
That's crazy. A FIFA ranking graph is the perfect thing to place in this kind of article. GiantSnowman, how about it? Quite A Character? Drmies (talk) 01:54, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
A FIFA ranking graph is a good idea. GiantSnowman 07:20, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

If not FIFA(.com)-related stuff, then what else? But truth be said, i'm as dumb as they come regarding graphs and charts, can't be of much help there... --Quite A Character (talk) 02:36, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

Did you gain a consensus when you reverted my edits, or more correctly termed, changing the article to the state that you wanted, which it currently is? If you did not, the i do not need to gain a consensus, either. Albertpda (talk) 02:44, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

That isn't how it works: the burden is on the editor making the initial change to gain consensus. If you keep on like this, you may expect to be blocked for disruption. Acroterion (talk) 02:50, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

This page needed to be shorten.

Infos are overloaded, unorganized. For example, the infos about the Records and the Sea also list. They are excessive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.97.246.210 (talk) 07:51, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

I think an admin needs to step in by now. This is getting out of hand. VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 13:59, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
I'm sorry but I kinda agree with the gentle person who is requesting here. Let's see, this page is seriously unnoticed, awfully arranged with tons of informations mishandling and was taken over the top. The decimation and reorganization of data is painfully, briskly required and those it shouldn't really require oblivious consensus technique. Them edits just reverse the page to a standard, like other pages, to the previous moment when it hasn't been vandalized and then this broken page is suddenly protected by idealess personels.Albertstrikesagain (talk) 09:39, 8 December 2018 (UTC)

North Vietnam and South Vietnam teams information

I have a question regarding the information presented in this article. On this day, I just received a message on my talkpage from an IP address located in Vietnam following my recent edit on the article. Despite knowing the user is actually a sock of a blocked user as seen in this article talkpage, the user actually made some points when he asked the article should only featuring the recent records of the current team while moving the records of the defunct North and South Vietnams team into their respective articles. The user stating that for this article along with the Germany team article "are the two only countries whose two football federations in the past united into one as for present unlike the present South Korea and North Korea which is separated under different associations until this day". So should we give a space for him/her to express his opinion on this article and separate the records of the current team with the previous defunct team of Vietnams? Or there is something to do with FIFA recognition that makes some article records could not be included? Thank you. Molecule Extraction (talk) 03:53, 10 December 2018 (UTC)

Edit warring and page content

Despite the furious edit warring that got them blocked at both the account and IP level, our erstwhile content-deleter isn't completely wrong that the article suffers from some WP:NPOV failures in its more breathless sections. I just reapplied some of their worthwhile copyedits from the reverted changes. The rest of the sections that follow could use some tidying up too.

(Which is totally possible without removing large swaths of content, deleting citations because there are "too many", or deleting templates because "no other articles of the same type" contain such information. Spoiler: that template is transcluded by over 300 articles.) -- FeRDNYC (talk) 01:49, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

Just a clarification. I blocked Cranepda (talk · contribs · count) as a sock of Albertpda (talk · contribs · count), not for edit-warring. My revert of Cranepda was for the same reason.--Bbb23 (talk) 01:55, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
Fair enough, thanks for clearing that up. (I took on faith the blockee's own talk-page assertions that they were singled out for edit-warring, which was... short-sighted of me, all things considered.) -- FeRDNYC (talk) 19:09, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

New shirt of 2019 Vietnam team?

Unconfirmed fixtures in late 2019 and in 2020

A week ago, a user made an edit in the "Results and fixtures" section of the page. He/she added a whole upcoming match schedule in late 2019 and in the whole 2020, including the 2022 World Cup qualifier and the 2020 AFF Championship matches, along with the friendly matches and the VFF Cup, which is actually a friendly tournament. Since then, many other people have joined in the process of repeatedly changing the team, date and venue of those matches (mostly on the friendly matches). There were some attempts to remove those matches too, only for them to be (probably) mistaken as vandalism and reverted back.

The thing is, no information has been announced from both the media and the officials from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) regarding the future friendly match schedule. And so I decided to remove all the upcoming friendly matches by myself, not forget to leave an explanation so as not to be mistaken as an act of vandalism. After that, no one came to add the matches back in again, and I thought that was it. However, yesterday someone added those exact matches in again. I tried to delete them, but they were restored today.

Can someone please explain what's going on here? Is this some sort of vandalism? If not then where does the information of these matches come from? -- Imaginer1105 (talk) 09:52, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
