Is VA-55 shared with I-66 between 23 and 28?[edit]

Google maps shows 55 as being on the parallel road for that stretch. It is right alongside so you have to zoom in a lot. Can anyone confirm the situation on the ground? It makes more sense to me that 55 would stay off of I-66 as long as there is a parallel route. --Walt (talk) 14:00, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

While I do not know why, I can confirm that VA-55 is indeed signed on I-66 between Exit 23 and Exit 27 as I have driven that stretch countless times since 2000. Thendsel (talk) 01:58, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re-routing of SR55 in Gainesville[edit]

The Gainesville Interchange project is partially complete. Gallerher Road is gone, and SR55 / John Marshall Highway is on its roadbed, and intersects with US 29 and SR 619. --Tim Sabin (talk) 02:19, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
