Possible contributions for educational assignment[edit]

Greetings. I have chosen to contribute to this article for an assignment in a Masters level school course of mine. I was considering creating a section on the imaging process, discussing the HerbScan scanner and other commonly used technologies, and components of an imaged specimen (the colour chart, the scale bar etc.). Is this a valuable directive? Are there any other suggestions for this page?Itsdavidbaxter (talk) 15:02, 26 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have added the sections "Specimen Imaging" and "Uses" for the assignment Itsdavidbaxter (talk) 15:38, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image for article[edit]

I think an image of a herbarium specimen would be valuable for this page, especially since there is no such image on the Herbarium page. Would it be appropriate for a herbarium to upload to wikipedia an image of a formally accessioned specimen, or would there be issues with that? Would some type of mock-up be better? Or a different type of image entirely?Itsdavidbaxter (talk) 15:09, 26 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
