Wordpress blog[edit]

I've again removed the Wordpress blog. A fan site is a fan sate is a fan site; they generally don't belong in WP:EL and certainly aren't reliable sources (unless, say, hosting a transcript of an interview). An assertion by the blog's maintainer that they have some special relationship with Fox and warrant special consideration as a reliable source is flimsy. --EEMIV (talk) 14:35, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dating the events[edit]

so... this page says "From dialog, the show is set "almost a century" after the flight of the first spacecraft called Orion, which NASA currently has scheduled to take place in 2015.[1]" actually, i think the dialog says that "it's named after the first design of a space ship with nuclear pulse propulsion, almost a century ago." which is Project Orion from the late 1950's, though the idea comes from the late 1940's. so it's probably more likely to be in the 2040's or 2050's. --meadhbh siobhan 1:58, 29 June, 2009 (PST)

Virtuality within Virtuality[edit]

Consider this, the Mission itself is a virtuality. Rather then being participants in a real mission being funded by means of reality TV and sponsorship, they are actually all hooked up in virtuality and the whole reality they experience is just a show people are watching on earth, this knowledge is kept from them during the game. The sub virtualities they escape into are just games within the meta virtuality. When they die in the meta level virtuality they just 'exit' from the game. This would explain the massive plot issues, for example the fact the doctor wasn't medically screened for a common genetic disorder and finds out he has one at the beginning of the mission, the rogue AI within the games able to act outside the games in the shared 'virtuality' which they percieve as reality etc. The fact they started the mission as one of exploration without there being any issues on earth and then quickly get told that the earth has suddently undergone massive violent climate changes endangering all of mankind and the mission depends on them findng somewhere else for man to settle, something they dont question as implausible, despite being scientific experts. The fact that the Earth seems to be run by a few mega corporations and not nation states. You are kept wondering throughout how deep the rabbit hole goes and what is and isnt VR. I get the impression that had this show been picked up by the network, we would have eventually been shown that their 'mission' was itself a total virtuality and they were still on earth or maybe something darker. All in thou, Virtuality was impressive in concept and the acting and effects were of a great standard. Plot incomplete[edit]

The plot description is incomplete. During the last few seconds of the film, we see the black crew member angrily confront her virtual gynecologist about something, who happens to be the virtual intruder in everybody else's VR scenarios, and after a cut, the supposedly killed mission commander tells us that a virtual murder is not a true murder. Although we don't see what the virtual gynecologist is confronted about and we don't know when these last words on behalf of the commander were actually spoken (but so far, everything we saw was chronolgical), these two sequences at the end suggest that the commander has not been killed and their entire mission is virtual. --79.242.222.168 (talk) 03:50, 15 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
