"Visakhpatnam is the third-most advanced district"

Third most advanced in WHAT? Poweroid 15:40, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Good question, it's time to clean up this article S Sepp 18:56, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Etikoppaka

Could somebody write Etikoppaka into this article so that the orphan tag can be removed from Etikoppaka? Kingturtle (talk) 22:20, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Population

According source provided for population, this is (2001) 3.832.000 instead 5.832.000. No dates show for 2006, only by the census of 2001 the dates are availables. Seems that this grow of two milions can be a peacock info.--88.19.53.144 (talk) 08:01, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Culture

"Vijay Diwas" is a holiday celebrated by the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam as a victory over Pakistan in 1971, when a submarine marauded the entire coast and entered the waters of the port of Vizag with the intention of destroying the port. The submarine was sunk by the Indian navy.

This section really needs some citation, otherwise it simply comes over as a bit of xenophobic warmongering. Firstly, a submarine does not have any "intention" to do anything. Its commander may have, its crew may have, and the people higher up the command structure in its navy may have, but a submarine is simply a lump of metal with no thoughts of its own. Secondly, what on earth does it "marauded the entire coast" mean? According to the dictionary, "maraud" means to "rape and pillage". So, who was raped? Where was pillaged? The entire coast? Every single centimetre of it? Really, come on, get a bloody grip! Skinsmoke (talk) 06:20, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
