Untitled[edit]

"Inspiration came both from successful symphonic power metal band Nightwish... The equal combination of male and female vocals distinguishes Visions of Atlantis from Nightwish however and is more reminiscent of bands such as Lacuna Coil." Says who? Nightwish have had female-male-duets since there first album (Tarja & Tuomas, later guest singers such as Tapio Wilska and Tony Kakko, and since 2002 Tarja - Marco / Anette - Marco). Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that Nicole Bogner be merged into Visions of Atlantis. The guideline WP:MUSICBIO states "members of notable bands are redirected to the band's article, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability for activity independent of the band, such as solo releases". There is no evidence in the article that Bogner established notability beyond her association with the band. WWGB (talk) 01:21, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Official homepage[edit]

I doubt if that link at the end of the page leads to their official website. The band history ends in 2004 and the only member info is about Melissa Ferlaak whose time in Voa is definitely over. They had another homepage coloured in the dark blue style of the Trinity album. But this side has been offline since 2009. Pirate metal[edit]

I recently added the genre “pirate metal” to their list of genres, I understand there will be some debate on this as that has not always been what they have done yet the band has stated on Instagram they will be dealing with the pirate theme going forward (I will try to find the specific post if need be) and I personally think that the pirate metal tag is justified. The artist's opinion about their music is interesting to the reader but not defining to the topic. Genres must come from WP:SECONDARY sources making uninvolved observations about the music. Even so, I still feel like adding the genre could be justified. I’m sure a significant secondary source could be found, and even if it’s not always been their “main” thing I don’t think it specifically needs to be to be added to the genre list, all it will mean is they’ve made music under that genre, which I don’t think anyone can say they haven’t in this case.

On another note, more out of curiosity than anything, what would a secondary source for a genre even look like? Not saying it doesn’t need one, but the genres in this article don’t appear to be sourced in the first place. CenacusJones (talk) 16:42, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
