Fair use rationale for Image:Viva!LOGO.gif[edit]

Image:Viva!LOGO.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

POV?[edit]

The consumption of animals is destroying our planet?

I thought it was the methane being emmitted by cows that was destroying our planet tbh - can someone have a look at this please? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.107.99.19 (talk) 10:32, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Did some deletion, removed a significant portion of non-NPOV material and added boxes[edit]

I'm going to take a whole CHUNK of their sucesses out as it's not cited, it reads a lot like a marketing page. Ok, so it's done. Now until this article gets citation from NPOV news sources, therefore no pro-animal rights pages, the article should remain disputed.

Thanks

I was making similar edits at the same time you were. I sliced out a few more POV statements and soapboxing, and also took out the huge list of links to their external sites (listed in the body, and in addition to links in the External Links section). As you noted, it is still lacking in sources as the only source cited is an interview with a cartoon character posted on their own website - dubious at best. --Transity (talkcontribs) 19:51, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lawsuit against Adidas.[edit]

It may be significant to note that it was the US branch of this organisation who brought a lawsuit against Adidas to stop them selling Kangaroo leather shoes in the state of California. This is an interesting case given that the Kangaroo's Adidas use are not endangered species and the law used to ban the sale of the footwear was intended to protect endangered species.--Senor Freebie (talk) 03:06, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Viva!Vegetarians' International Voice for Animals — There are many uses for "Viva!", this seems lower usage internationally than the various music uses listed at Viva (disambiguation), so "Viva!" should redirect to the disambiguation page. This would also expand the acronym. 65.94.45.238 (talk) 07:35, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nomination. The exclamation mark is not sufficient to establish unique usage in this case.  — Amakuru (talk) 08:33, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support; there are other uses of "Vivi!" listed in the disambiguation page. Snowman (talk) 22:10, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
