Reliable source?[edit]

Looks like a blog, so probably not a reliable source. See WP:USERGENERATED. PaintTrash (talk) 13:38, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Looking more closely at the article, I see that another Tumblr blog, "vulgarauteurism.tumblr.com", has been used for quite a lot of the entries on the list of film examples. I think at the very least the entries on the list with only user generated content as a source for its inclusion ought to be removed, but I'm also not sure if such an extensive list is necessary in the first place. Perhaps that list as well as the list of directors could be made into paragraphs instead, discussing what it is that makes the most notable directors and films so notable. I've deleted most of the list items that are sourced only by the Tumblr blog "Vulgar Auteurism". I'm aware that according to the article text this blog was apparently important to its creators in the development of the idea of vulgar auteurism but this assertion is not itself reliably sourced. Even if true I also do not believe that this makes a reliable source as to whether a film is actually notable. PaintTrash (talk) 14:54, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do we really think a podcast called vulgar auteurs on spotify is a valid source? A lot of the movies they cover don't seem to fall into the purview of what is defined as "vulgar auteurism". Tristmist (talk) 20:25, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
They did cover the films of Roland Emmerich, Michael Bay, The Wachowski Sisters and Zack Snyder; each labeled as a "vulgar autuer". Espngeek (talk) 21:27, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Description: "Cinemecca is proud to welcome you to the Vulgar Auteurs. Join Paco McCullough, Jason Haskins and Terry Cleveland (our resident cinephiles) as they take a deep dive into the filmographies of some of the industry’s most beloved, and sometimes not so beloved genre directors. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry (maybe) and above all you might learn a little about what makes these directors so well known, and the impact they’ve had on the film industry altogether." By name itself doesn't necessarily mean they are talking about vulgar auteurs. I'll have to listen to the episodes to check if they do mention vulgar auteurism or whether or not that happens to be a dressing for a podcast name. Tristmist (talk) 05:34, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Repeated sources[edit]

Both the Richard Brody and Variety sources have been repeated multiple times. I don't know what to do. Espngeek (talk) 17:45, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
