Fair use rationale for Image:Vyjayanthimala Madhumati.jpg[edit]

Image:Vyjayanthimala Madhumati.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Fan point of view[edit]

I am seriously mad right now...as far to consider about this article..i'm still working on it...and how come a tag with fan point of view is being displayed!! Please stop damaging this article!! It wasn't written in a fan point of view. Try to check other legendary actress and I'll sure that this article is much more better!! Stop tagging in good articles!! Please save this legend's article. Pravinraj (talk) 09:35, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pravin, Wikipedia's manual of style is much more muted than the usual Indian film reporting language. So writing a wikipedia article from indian film news sources will result in it being called "fan language" (has happened to me before). Calling her a "legendary actress" in itself will be construed as fan language. This article is very comprehensive but needs a serious tone down to confirm to our MOS. mute the tone down or ask the guild of copy editors to take a look. Sometimes when we are too involved in writing about a subject, it is difficult to step back and see where we are using "fan language" etc. This article is much much better than most of the other Indian film star articles, but it can be even more better, if you let other people copyedit it and make it compliant with our Mos. --Sodabottle (talk) 11:35, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for saying this dude...I would be much more happier if this article is rich in information rather than achieve a good article status and yes, you are correct that I'm trying to make this article mine. And please don't interfere with this article...I lovethis article so much and I'm happy with it..Sorry if I'm being too rude...Pravinraj (talk) 13:58, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Pravin, its great that you are enthusiastic about this topic and that you want to contribute to the improvement of the article. But sometimes editors can be let their personal feelings get in the way of neutral prose and presentation of the text. Please be sure to read the policies on WP:NPOV and WP:OWNERSHIP. All the best to you. And thanks for all your contributions to Wikipiedia!--KeithbobTalk 21:40, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
“I'm trying to make this article mine. And please don't interfere with this article” Such sentiments are very much against the spirit and functioning of wikipedia. Read WP:OWNERSHIP. And the article can be "rich in information" and comply to our other standards. The language will change but the facts wont. So let others work on it without getting frustrated. It will be better for the article--Sodabottle (talk) 04:22, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Also you might have missed, but on the bottom of every page right under the Save button, you are agreeing to "If you do not want your writing to be edited, used, and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here." If it is going to bother you that someon else changes your work, you are in the wrong place.Active Banana (bananaphone 04:41, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fan POV tag[edit]

I've added a Fan POV tag for generally pufferry and hype like this unsourced sentence in the lead "Most of her movies have been critically acclaimed besides being major hits at box office."--KeithbobTalk 21:37, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

multiple names?[edit]

Whats the deal - was she also known by Vyjayanthi? There seems to be a slo mo edit war over the name and the sources seem to use both. Active Banana (bananaphone 23:15, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mentioning Caste[edit]

Dear Editors!
There has been a discussion on India Portal related to mentioning of caste of subjects. The point is that mentioning caste of people, who have nothing to do with their caste, is found to be unnecessary by few editors. Hence the caste of the subject person needs to be deleted from the biography. I am not deleting the caste as of now but am only posting this here so that the regular editors of this article are well aware of it beforehand and no edit-wars take place. For details of discussion held on the portal please refer Wikipedia_talk:Noticeboard_for_India-related_topics#Mentioning_caste_of_Individuals. Your views if any are welcome there or even here.
And.... as the reasons of exclusion of caste pointed out were "irrelavant to notability of subject person", "privacy of the subject person", "inclusion of caste is like branding individuals", etc. other information included in the article which also fall under these cases will also be removed after discussions. Examples of it included religion, non-notable spouse's and children's and parents' information, previous occupation, lived in places, non-notability related educational qualification, etc.
Your views on this are also welcome here or at the India portal. -Animeshkulkarni (talk) 11:10, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not here, please. There is a community discussion taking place at WT:INB and I would advise people to read the entire discussion before forming an opinion because the above summary is incorrect. Nothing more need be said here. - Sitush (talk) 01:23, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of the Film Heroine[edit]

Can you post the appropriate main picture of this great artist, rather than the picture when the artist is in her retirement age. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.96.170.44 (talk) 16:56, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
