Comment[edit]

Hi - it's understandable to be proud of your station, but please remember to remain mostly objective. Opinions are fine and welcome, as long as they are stated as such. Describing a fact subjectively, while not ideal, is also permitted so long as it's done properly. For example, rather than saying "WHKF took the market by storm, far reaching (sic) initial expectations," consider using "WHKF enjoyed a highly successful launch, rapidly exceeding Clear Channel's expectations." As another example, instead of posting speculation as fact ("Bond exited soon after for reasons that have been highly speculated, but it's safe to say that had WHKF not gone after Wink 104 and Bond's jugular, Bond would still be dominant on 104.1"), post them as speculation: "Bond exited soon after for reasons that have not been made public. Some have speculated that WHKF's attack on the station was responsible." Take a peek at Wikipedia's Editorial Policies for more information.

Fair use rationale for Image:Whkf.jpg[edit]

Image:Whkf.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Premature demise?[edit]

"...it was the ill-advised switch of KOOL 94.9 to KOOL 99.3 in June of 1995 which caused the premature demise of Mix 99.3 FM" A broadcast channel has either one format or the other. Two formats don't vie for the same slot, one causing the "premature demise" of the other. Presumably MIX lost viability and KOOL moved into the slot.

The history of this article shows quite a bit of back and forth with undocumented opinions. Like the above editor tried to point out, this is an encyclopedia not a blog and the content should be neutral in tone. One recent editor added a strident comment here and proceeded to vandalize two articles. I can't tell whether the strident remarks here are vandalism, given the tone of the rest of it. That's not good. --Pat (talk) 21:10, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Editing the article to comply with Wikipedia's Neutral tone[edit]

Since I worked at this station during the 1990's and know a bit about it, I am going to attempt to edit this article and try to make it more in compliance with Wikipedia style rules.
