My Network TV[edit]

Whyever would WUPW, already a Fox affiliate, affiliate with My Network TV? I really think we need a source for this claim. I mean, hey, there's always the other six television stations in the Toledo market... why not WBGU-TV as My Network TV's affiliate? I edited out the other stations and replaced it with a 'it's not known if WNGT will be MyNet' sentence, it could be any station at this point which takes it. If someone also wants to take out the opinion about how the station is run, I have no problem with that; I cleaned it up a little to make it neater. Nate 03:53, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bad quality references removed[edit]

I removed the entire section about how WNGT has "bad video quality", pixelation, Windows error messages, etc... it may or may not be true, but there's nothing supporting what's clearly a personal observation by the editor, with no supporting evidence to back it up. Wikipedia articles, if I understand policy right, are not for "this station sucks" opinions... MPWard 02:46, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Someone has restored this section. I still believe it is personal opinion, no matter if it is thought to be the "general opinion" of Toledo market viewers, but I won't fight the battle. Attribution would be nice, i.e. from a newspaper or magazine article, not just from personal observation by the Wikipedia editor. MPWard 00:33, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I modified the language to remove the editorial slant. As a Toledo resident, I can vouch for the broadcasting difficulties, but to describe the station as "run on the cheap" reflects a value judgment.historymike 20:59, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Confused...[edit]

Are you sure that it is WNGT 48 that became the MNTV affiliate with call letters WMNT? If so, why is it branded "My 58" and not "My 48" or something of that sort? Thisthema n 21:17, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the station realizes that more people are watching on cable than over the air, and decided to reflect that in the rebranding for MNTV (58 is their position on the local cable system). As long as the correct call letters and city of license are displayed (or said) once an hour, the FCC will let you call your station whatever you want. --Radiofreewill 20:09, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
