  • Women's National Basketball Association All-Star GameWNBA All-Star Game — "WNBA All-Star Game" is the more common name (see [1]), so per WP:NC(CN) the page should be moved to this name. — BlueAg09 (Talk) 00:46, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Some would advise to use the full name in the article title. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:52, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • The full name belongs in the article lead. The title itself should be the common name. A Google search shows that the abbreviated form is more often used than the full one. BlueAg09 (Talk) 08:24, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • The full name should be used in the title per WP:NC#Prefer spelled-out phrases to abbreviations. Not everyone may know the meaning of WNBA (and there is a second meaning at WNBA (disambiguation)). WNBA All-Star Game currently redirects here anyway, so it doesn't matter that much. • "WNBA" is a term that "is almost exclusively known only by its abbreviation and is widely known and used in that form" (from the page you linked). "WNBA" is more than often used to refer to the league, and the same idea goes with NBA. The full name ("Women's National Basketball Association") consists of too many syllables, which is the reason it is hardly used - same concept applies to NASA. It is true that not everyone may know the definition of WNBA - readers who don't know what it stands for may navigate to the WNBA page, which redirects to the Women's National Basketball Association article. • It seems a bit cumbersome to spell out WNBA. The article is actually about the All Star Game, and WNBA is added just to specify which all star game. While WNBA should be spelled out in the WNBA article, I don't see that it is necessary to spell it out in every article about the WNBA. However, I have no clear preference either way. In most cases if what gets spelled out is not terribly long, like United States, it gets spelled out, but I can see the case for abbreviating very long names when they are used in this manner. There are currently 16 other articles that abbreviate WNBA in this manner, such as WNBA Playoffs. 199.125.109.126 (talk) 02:22, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
