==Recipe==

A common recipe for wacky cake is as follows:

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup cocoa
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups water
  • 3/4 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions:

  • Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, and baking soda into a large bowl.
  • Add water, oil, vinegar and vanilla.
  • Blend thoroughly.
  • Pour into a greased square pan.
  • Bake at 350°F for 35–40 minutes.

Alleged creator[edit]

A search for the sourceless "Beatrice Fe O'Hearn" (including some variations on the name) who the article claimed invented the cake with an extremely weaselly "Some have said..." found no results that did not appear to originate from this page via wiki-scrapers etc., so I've removed it. (By the way, the cake is delicious.) --Arvedui (talk) 07:54, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please add picture of actual cake[edit]

Can someone add a picture of an actual wacky cake? The only picture currently here is the dry ingredients and I think we should switch the primary image to an image of the actual cake (keeping the ingredients image though). 209.237.105.195 (talk) 15:19, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
