Release Date[edit]

According to Billboard.com, the song peaked at #26 on April 14, 2001, and, according to the International Supervideos! liner notes, the video was recorded in May 2001, so I guess the release date should be around that time. According to Amazon.com, the single was released on October 29, 2001. So probably it was released as a promo single in April and on CD-single in October, which makes me wondering which date should be put as the release date in the "Waiting" infobox.Neon Tiger 21 (talk) 00:52, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The meaning[edit]

The beginning of the article states that the song is about a man who waited to 'express his love.' Actually, there is no mention of love or expression in the song's lyrics, rather it is a generic song with no specific meaning, but rather a broad theme which can relate to any situation (waiting for love, waiting for fame, waiting for a person etc...)

Genre[edit]

green day covers the genres mentioned, but this song i think is simply Pop--Greenday21 (talk) 13:31, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Greenday21[reply]

Allusions[edit]

That the song winks at Petula Clark's song falls in the realm of the obvious, given the identical melody at the outset and the willfully chosen first word. One can hardly claim any research is required to make the statement so marked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DulcetTone (talkcontribs) 01:33, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I just found some references for this, so it's all good. - PM800 (talk) 02:01, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
