What exactly does "heavy" mean? AEuSoes1 02:27, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It means it doesn't lenite, lengthens a preceding nasal, may be long and preglottalized, and attracts stress. --Ptcamn 04:14, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, so phonetically it's preglottalized. AEuSoes1 05:00, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Only the nasals, not the stops.
Can't you just leave it alone and go with what the references say? :/ If it was simply preglottalized it would've said so. --Ptcamn 07:43, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You said it wasn't IPA and I think IPA is appropriate, especially since the article uses the IPA template and seems to comform everything to IPA except for that one mark (I was under the impression that it was IPA until I read otherwise). If you're going to deviate from the IPA, you need to mention it in the article. AEuSoes1 07:55, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
