This page should not be speedily deleted because... (Wastewater engineering is its own form of Engineering that is a subdivision of Civil and Environmental Engineering. I am a wastewater engineer. It is indeed its own discipline, but it is not part of civil engineering. I also note that the article is riddled with errors.2.26.52.239 (talk) 12:57, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

so what are the errors then? Why don't you fix them? Wastewater engineers often studied civil engineering, or chemical engineering. EvMsmile (talk) 11:28, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Actually there are indeed a lot of errors as it mixes up drinking water treatment. I think it should be merged with sanitary engineering. See below. EvMsmile (talk) 11:33, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Should focus on the profession not on wastewater treatment in general

If this page is about the profession of wastewater engineering, then the history section needs to be changed to focus on the history of the profession. At the moment it gives a general history about sewage and sewer systems etc. - this is actually covered much better on existing pages on Wikiepedia. Therefore, rather link to those pages and focus here on the history of the profession (if there is indeed much to say about the history of wastewater engineering as a profession). Pages to link to include sewage treatment, sanitary sewer, history of water supply and sanitation EvM-Susana (talk) 21:06, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

Merge with page on sanitary engineering?
