Seeing as there's no sources for any of these numbers, I think the table should be changed to just fatalities. Either that, or everything needs to be sourced. Otherwise, this page might have to be deleted. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:21, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't include fatalities because you can already find that information somewhere else. This is a list of weather events, not a list of weather deaths. Additionally, I just got this information from the yearly articles. I scan them, seeing if new storms popped up, then edit it and add the new storms. 🐔dat (talk) 11:19, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you're getting the information from other articles, then you need to cite it. Also, I think it's inappropriate to include the number of tornadoes with the number of tropical cyclones (as TC's can produce tornadoes). If it was "Cyclones by year", I could see that, as that sourcing might be more doable, getting every tropical and extratropical cyclone. For the sourcing, I'm trying to do tropical cyclones first. But I've noticed that Tropical cyclones by year and Tropical cyclones in XXXX rarely have any citations at all. Ditto for List of tornado events by year. Why should Weather by year be any different? (Yes, I know this is OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, but the articles are very similar.) 🐔dat (talk) 11:09, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I know, but the problem is, it's hard to find a ref that covers all weather events in a year, even if you narrow it down to a certain type. I can't find anything like this example ref. <ref>{{cite web|url=www.example.org|title=A Summary of Weather Events in 2000|last=Doe|first=John|date=1 January 2001|publisher=[[Example.org]]|accessdate=6 February 2022}}</ref> You can find refs that giv a summary for the storm and season, and occasionally a basin, but for the entire year, refs are difficult. 🐔dat (talk) 12:04, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
