this should be "the wessex soccer league", in fact it should be the "Upper Wessex Soccer League", see below.

the Wessex League is a political/geographical designation consisting of Upper Wessex [hampshire, berkshire, oxfordshire, isle of wight], Lower Wessex [wiltshire, gloucestershire, dorset, north somerset, north-east somerset], the Westcountry [somerset, devon, cornwall],Sussex,Surrey,Kent —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.219.57.126 (talkcontribs) 13:12, 19 June 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I'm not sure what you mean here. The Wessex League is the official name of the Step 5 league that covers Hampshire and Dorset primarily, although there are also clubs based in Berkshire and Wiltshire. Whether or not the corresponds with the historical boundaries of Wessex isn't important - it's the name of the league. --Balerion 21:50, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One more feeder league?[edit]

If I am correct, there should be one more league added to the Relegation to table template. The league in question is the Aldershot Senior League. Please view this talk page for further details under section 18 (Error?) of the page. --Siva1979Talk to me 03:50, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Wessex League, along with the Sussex County League and Spartan South Midlands League all have confusing issues with their feeders because these three leagues are the only Step 5 leagues to maintain a third level (Step 7) league. In the specific case of the Wessex, the Dorset Premier League is actually parallel to the third level of the Wessex (Step 7). The Hampshire League still exists at level 12, although it lost most of its clubs to the Wessex expansion a few years ago. There are a number of other leagues in the area without any NLS designation as well: the Aldershot Senior, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, Southampton, and the North Hants League. I'm not familiar with recent club movement between these regional leagues and the Hampshire League, but like in most of the country, the situation below Step 7 is vague. There usually aren't formal applications and the Wessex League would probably consider applications from any of these leagues. Hopefully all this will get sorted out as the FA continues to restructure the pyramid, although we are a ways from finalizing Step 7 and below. For now, I would call them all level 12 leagues, but it's important to remember that at that level in the pyramid there aren't black-and-white lines. --Balerion 21:50, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Added Past Winners and the Cup[edit]

I've just edited and added previous winners of the Wessex League as well as information about the Wessex League Cup in addition to its previous winners. Cazza3012 (talk) 18:09, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
