West champaran instead of west champaran district[edit]

The title should be West champaran instead of west champaran district ?? --Extra999 (Contact me + contribs) 18:00, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indigo[edit]

We need a citation to support that "Indigo cultivation yielded quick benefits to the British colonizers but frequent cultivation of indigo even for few years ruined the entire subsoil decreasing the possibility of any further cultivation of any kind. Even now, the regions of Indigo cultivation in the past are barren and have only scrub vegetation in stark contrast." RJFJR (talk) 17:22, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

May 2015[edit]

While reading through the unsourced part of the "History" section, I found that most of it was copy-pasted from this source: [1]. The source does not make any copyright claims. Consequently, I have tagged it with {{close paraphrasing}}. Please feel free to remove that tag if you feel you that you have done the needful. The creator of the section has been informed at User_talk:Chandan_Guha#May_2015. ← scribbleink ᗧHᗣT 08:17, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello and thanks Scribbleink for the tag. Just to clarify: a work is copyrighted as soon as it is committed to "paper" (virtual or otherwise), so we require a positive action be taken to release or license that text before we can use it. The section in question is indeed pulled from there: [2], so in the absence of a license release, we must actually do just the opposite and assume it is copyrighted, and therefor must be removed.
  • From the history, Chandan Guha simply moved this section from the main article Bettiah in 2012, so no wrongdoing on his part. That content was originally added in 2008 where it was removed and re-added several times over the years. CrowCaw 22:19, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Crow: Thanks for taking care of that. Also, for the explanation so that I know how to handle these types of cases in the future. ← scribbleink ᗧHᗣT 21:26, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
