  • Grabbing this for a review. Aoba47 (talk) 14:57, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • No worries. I look forward to reviewing this! Aoba47 (talk) 18:35, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Comments
  • Please add an ALT description for the infobox image and the image in the body of the article.
  • The second sentence of the lead’s first paragraph seems rather long. I would recommend breaking it apart into two smaller sentences to avoid a run-on sentence.
  • I do not believe the phrase “A then-recent Grammy Award-winner” is necessary for the lead’s second paragraph. It is not directly relevant to this article, and it sounds like something from a fan’s perspective or overly-positive towards Mya.
  • I would rephrase the first sentence of the lead’s second paragraph to “Disney hired Mya to…”
  • I would remove “the recording artist’s record label, at the time” and change “the studio’s business relationship” to “the studio and singer’s shared business relationship”.
  • I would separate the second sentence of the lead into two parts, with the film’s central theme being the subject of the second sentence.
  • The last sentence of the second paragraph of the lead is awkwardly constructed and could be worded stronger.
  • I do not think “non-musical” is necessary and I would say you should say the whole title of the film in the sentence as it only requires two additional words.
  • In the first two sentence of the lead’s third paragraph, you use the song’s full title very close in proximity. I would add variety.
  • Sure, changed the second occurrence to "the ballad" to avoid using "the song" or "the single" again.--Changedforbetter (talk) 01:06, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • How is Mya winning the Grammy Award for Moulin Rouge relevant to this article? Same goes for Aguilera’s performance of “Reflection”? Both bits of information appear to be very tangential related to this topic and could be removed.
  • I agree the Grammy part might be disposable (although it alludes to the fact that Mya was in high demand and peak popularity at the time due to the win, and the Moulin Rouge reference indicates the origins of her association with movie soundtracks), but I was thinking I could mention Aguilera's cover of "Reflection" as an example of Disney hiring young pop singers to promote their latest films – and it just so happens that Mya and Aguilera collaborated on "Lady Marmalade". I made an adjustment to the sentence to place more emphasis on Aguilera and their collaboration, thoughts?--Changedforbetter (talk) 01:15, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • That makes sense to me. Thank you for the clarification! Aoba47 (talk) 01:47, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Should you include “soft rock” in the infobox due to the first sentence of the third paragraph in the “Background and composition” section?
  • I'm gonna have to go with a hard no on this one. The song is definitely not a soft rock, but according to the source it definitely does have influences of songs written for that radio format.--Changedforbetter (talk) 01:24, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • That is what I thought, but I wanted to double-check with you first. I definitely did not hear rock in any way, shape, or form when listening to this song lol. Aoba47 (talk) 01:47, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Publications cannot say something or cite anything. Go back through the article, and add either the author/write or just say the writer from X. Hope this part makes sense.
  • I would rework the “Reception” to make it a more cohesive narrative as it appears somewhat list-like in its current state and not as fully connected. I would recommend looking at the following resource here while revising the “Reception” section.
  • Note sure if I addressed this properly; every reception section is different depending on the available sources, but I split it into two different paragraphs for the sake of readability – the first discusses the song itself, the second more-so Mya's performance.--Changedforbetter (talk) 03:57, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reference 28 is dead for me. You can probably find it in a website archive.
  • Whoa, that link was put out of commission fast lol, glad I put it in an article before it was lost forever. Having some browser issues right now but I should be able to archive it once I clear the cache, thanks!--Changedforbetter (talk) 01:38, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sounds good to me! And I have definitely encountered this problem way too many times in the past lol. Aoba47 (talk) 01:47, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oh no! It looks as though I was too late, it would seem as the the link is gone forever and no one had the time to archive it (RIP). Such a shame, it was an incredible article...guess I'll just have to unlink it in the article but keep the source for the sake of the quote, hope that's okay.--Changedforbetter (talk) 03:53, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • That is okay. That is why I try to archive the source as soon as I find it because you never know with these kinds of things. At least you found it and put in here before it became dead so that is a good thing. Aoba47 (talk) 04:03, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Just want to add one more note that I forgot. Please go through the references and change them to avoid SHOUTING (reference titles should not be in all CAPS even if the publication shows it that way). There are a few examples of this in the reference section, and it should be a quick and easy fix. Aoba47 (talk) 13:55, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Final comments
  • Overall, wonderful job with the article. Once my comments are addressed, I will pass this. Aoba47 (talk) 23:24, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Changedforbetter: Everything looks great! I will definitely  Pass this. I was wondering if you could possibly review my GAN for "Diamond Crowned Queen"? I know that it is a busy time of the year so I understand if you do not have the time or energy to do so, but I was just curious. Again, wonderful work with this article. It is interesting that this was only recently updated when the article on the film has been an FA for a while lol. Aoba47 (talk) 14:37, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
