Would it be inaccurate to refer to the school as ABET-accredited? As it is, it says 'many programs are accredited,' which makes it sound less solid. Do they only accredit the actual BS/MS engineering degrees? Is that why it is implied that not all programs are ABET-accredited? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Elred (talkcontribs) 05:48, 24 April 2007.

ABET does not accredit the college as a whole, they accredit individual programs. The list of accredited programs can be seen here.
As an aside, I think it's also redundant to list the degrees (BS/MS/PhD) and then the programs, rather than listing BS - CE, ChE, CS, IE, ME, etc., though this is a minor point. --Myles Long 14:39, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see. The reason I listed the degrees by level (bachelors, masters, phd) was (1) to display easily the number of degrees offered at each level and (2) because I think it looks best if all of the colleges display the degrees in the same format. Engineering is kind of atypical in that each degree has its own abbrevation (generally.) Most colleges offer either a BA, BS, or BBA folowed by some descriptor whereas engineering degrees each have their own acronym. --Elred 21:03, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:TTUshield.png[edit]

Image:TTUshield.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Creation of a Recognitions Section[edit]

I think that we should create a "Recognitions" section and move parts of the first section (e.g. In 2007, Texas Tech’s College of Engineering was ranked 93rd in the nation ....) into that section. That will help to clear up the summary section, and increase the overall readability of the article. --MarkRomero (talk) 01:35, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Tau Beta Pi Association seal.gif[edit]

The image Image:Tau Beta Pi Association seal.gif is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.
