Notes on NYRA Travers investigation[edit]
Investigation into charges by the trainer of the second place horse in the 2013 Travers, that WTC's jockey used an electric device or buzzer concluded that the charges were "wholly unsubstantiated."

- Thanks for finding this. I have added a sentence to the article. Given his performances in the BC Clasic and the Clark Handicap it looks very likely that WTC will be this year's American Champion Three-Year-Old Male Horse. He would be the first horse to win the title without winning a Triple Crown race or a Breeders' Cup since Skip Away in 1997. Tigerboy1966 02:43, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
- Don't know if you caught video of the Clark, but I am really starting to like this colt; the showdown head to head with the Dude was great; I only wish I'd been able to catch it live before I knew the outcome, though perhaps the adrenalin surge would have been too much! Hope they run him next year enough to establish a good record with him; would love to see him in next years' Dubai World Cup and the Classic. Spotted an interview with D. - I saw a clip on YT: WTC is an exciting colt and looks certain to pick up the Eclipse Award for 3yo colt. Top class flat racing shuts down in Britain from mid-November to mid-March, (jump racing takes over) and I have to keep reminding myself that in the US it's a twelve-month sport. - Interesting tale of Groupie Doll, her new owner paid $3 million for her, originally wanted her to win the Clark, but now wants her to "go out a winner" so she'll probably get at least one more race. Yeah, 12-month schedule here thanks to Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, California and related spots, which actually can be hell on the horses and jockeys (because they get no real breaks), though for the 2-year-olds, I suppose running in the winter in the warm lands is probably better than running in late summer in terms of their development, at least if that's when they are started (which isn't usually the case, but still...)
