Not a Governor[edit]

William Clayton was not the Governor, Acting Governor, Deputy Governor or Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania. The President of the Council was left in charge after Penn left in 1684, and Thomas Lloyd was the President from 1684-1688. Penn specifically did not appoint a deputy governor until 1688.

I've corrected the text, but because this is the source of Clayton's notability and part of the article name, I will take action to have this article renamed Thanks! Kirk (talk) 15:37, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

How did Quaker Judges carry out criminal punishment while keeping their Pacifist beliefs?[edit]

17th-18th century criminal punishments are not known for their pacifism. How did the Quakers in Philadelphia carry out their punishments without straying from the Quaker pacifist beliefs? (I admit, this might be for a new Wikipedia page though) Kwitshadie1 (talk) 07:35, 18 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
