Merger proposal[edit]

As I asked at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Oregon along with a bunch of other stuff, should the Willamette Floodplain article be merged into this one, since that article says it exists within the refuge? Jason McHuff (talk) 02:15, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose merge, since the Willamette Floodplain, on its own, is a National Natural Landmark. The article could certainly be expanded since it is obviously notable enough for the NPS to take notice of it. I don't think the fact that it exists within the refuge is alone a compelling region to merge, either. This is hyperbole, but: if things that existed within other things were all upmerged, we'd have an awfully big Earth article... Katr67 (talk) 07:07, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, actually, I think it would be Solar System. But I think this is different because both articles about nature/wildlife things and it seems that the refuge might exist because of the floodplain. Jason McHuff (talk) 07:38, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
