Notwithstanding What???

What is this SUPPOSED to mean, "his professed agnosticism and his atheism regarding a Personal God notwithstanding."

This shows an ever so obvious ignorance of various theological systems as well as simple semantics.

I suggest that this be EDITED!!! --Carlon 19:05, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

"Nothwithstanding" here means that one can be agnostic and atheistic regarding a Personal God but still believe in a Impersonal God of Cosmos, hence, his belief in Cosmotheism. Maybe the "ignorance" of which you speak is really just your own? The political religious bias in Wikipedia is well known, http://www.amren.com/features/200807wikipedia.html , but not as much in the case of this article now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.250.254.166 (talk) 06:08, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Williampierce.JPG

Image:Williampierce.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Thanks for purging down the memory hole, the cutesy lovable image of William Luther Pierce doning an attractive and affectionate looking cat on his shoulder, because not only was the image improperly added to Wikipedia under the fair use guidelines, but it also tends to falsely humanize William Luther Pierce. Carmelmount (talk) 00:11, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

what about the cat?

Who is the cat seen in the picture? I think it's a Chartreux cat. Is it true (as I've heard on TV) that her name is "Blofeld"? More info please! 93.219.189.187 (talk) 15:14, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Was there a picture with a cat? If so, it has been removed and no longer there. It seems to me the mention of the cat in the article is superfluous. If there are no objections, I will delete it. Phersh (talk) 04:32, 24 April 2018 (UTC)

From the Biography by RS Griffen, available as audiobook at https://archive.org/details/RobertSGriffinTheFameOfADeadManSDeedsSecondEdition, “Since the National Alliance started, I’ve always had a bluepoint male Siamese." Hi, I removed some entries that were already linked above in the article. Can Revilo P. Oliver be worked into the article or what is the relation? I know very little about the subject matter but if this is another similar academic or such, I would would remove this as well, but will let others comment first. Thank you, --Malerooster (talk) 21:38, 1 December 2012 (UTC)ps, reading helps :), it looks like Oliver also, or founded the National Alliance or something? Again, if this link belongs, ideally it can be worked into the article, or not, your milage will vary with use :). Thanks, --Malerooster (talk) 21:41, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

This page should be protected due to numerous vandalizations

William Luther Pierce is described by numerous WP:RS as an American Neo-Nazi leader. He was an activist of the American Nazi Party, and the leading member of National Socialist White People's Party. So to deny this is nonsense. If the current trend of censoring this by different IP vandals continues I will ask for protection of this page, so only auto confirmed users could edit it.--Tritomex (talk) 08:09, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

"Neo-Nazi" is a "loaded-term" and is not NPOV. "National Socialist" is both more "accurate" and reflects a NPOV. Pierce himself never claimed to ever be a "Neo-Nazi" and Pierce never even had "officially joined" Rockwell's ANP. The IRS does not give TAX EXEMPT status to "bogus religions" and actually "60 acres were exempted from taxes for religious purposes" even according to the ADL.

Pierce was involved with Rockwell's openly neo-Nazi organization, expressed admiration for Hitler and for Nazi Germany on numerous public occasions, and supported policies and expressed views similar to those of the Nazis, such as antisemitism, eugenics and blood & soil romanticism. What more evidence is needed before an individual can reasonably be labeled a neo-Nazi? Mvaldemar (talk) 18:54, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

"what may have been a last-ditch effort to avoid paying taxes"

It's an allegation without any substance. First and foremost, the way the sentence is worded, it implies that Pierce owed taxes, and formed a church in order to avoid paying them. Which implies that by forming a church one can somehow absolve themselves of a financial debt to the government. Back-taxes are not "forgiven" just because someone forms a church, but that's what this sentence implies. Which makes it confusing, and undermines the credibility of the Article.

It's possible, probable even that the formation of the church was to avoid paying FUTURE taxes, but the Article really should provide some basis for making this allegation.2605:6000:6947:AB00:49D2:79EC:1362:5C96 (talk) 06:31, 20 October 2018 (UTC)

Also, and after reading further, the section on religion is in contradiction to the earlier statement about "avoiding taxes". This section makes Pierce's religious convictions seem legitimate, and no mention of taxes is made. For consistency's sake, I think the tax issue needs to be hashed-out, and if the allegation has some legitimacy, the aspect of taxes should be included in the section for "religion".2605:6000:6947:AB00:49D2:79EC:1362:5C96 (talk) 06:35, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
