Not Notable[edit]

William was grandfather of one of the ministers who fanned the flames of Salem Village (Nicholas Noyes). From that, the page has merit albeit the sources (for this page and those related to it) seem to be less than desirable. jmswtlk (talk) 14:17, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Problem to resolve[edit]

Ann, as purported daughter of Nicholas Stephens of Burdrop, is not mentioned in his will. Ref: (1899)The Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Magazine, Vol. 30, pg 140 (via Google Books). The sources for the pedigree need to be verified. jmswtlk (talk) 19:55, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Revision[edit]

The work I have done on this article has mainly been a revision of format and references (to which I have added several) but I cannot vouch for the verifiability or accuracy of the rearranged information content beyond what is shown in the visible online sources. In light of the above, and with no objections raised for a month, I have removed the 2011-dated tags re notability and cleanup. For notability I take (a) the Puritan Noyes's association with the Rich household, (b) his immediate influence upon a group of early and notable New England founding ministers, (c) his role in the education of a family closely connected with the Salem trials, and (d) his direct ancestry of an existing American family in the founding period, represented in several weighty genealogical studies, to be sufficient.
