Talk:Wittgenstein's Nephew

I find many of these Bernhard pages to be appallingly pompous, overwrought, and very book reportish. This is at least true of this page and "The Lime Works".

Problematic[edit]

This really does need some serious work. First of all, "Wittgenstein's Nephew" is not, at least in the German-speaking world, considered a novel: it is a continuation of his autobiographical work and is only about 160 or so pages long. The German publisher considers it "autobiography" and I have heard it described as well as an "Erzählung," or short story. Much of the critical description is also, as the anonymous poster above wrote, misguided and perhaps even "pompous." The designation as "low importance" might be applicable in the English-speaking world, but this is a pretty serious work by a highly influential German-speaking author. I'm going to go ahead an make some changes, I'd be glad to discuss them if anyone finds them unacceptable. Zanyplebeian (talk) 17:09, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
