More info please, especially history[edit]

This is simplistically descriptive -- why not some history on Woodroffe Avenue? And what is the derivation of the name 'Woodroofe'? Was there a Mr. Woodroffe from the 1800s? Why was the original avenue built? When was it built? Any photos from its early years? Come on.
