Cleanup[edit]

This article is currently a mess. I just removed most of the article that was a big copyvio block of text taken directly from Wallace's "Indian Paths of Pennsylvania" (and without attribution). What is left makes little sense. The trail ran from Wyalusing to Muncy PA. It passed near but not through World's End State Park and nowhere near Kettle Creek State park (far west in Clinton Co.). It ran along Muncy Creek, but nowhere near Lycoming Creek (Loyalsock Creek is between the two). I will work to fix it and leave a copyvio message at whoever left the "block o' text". i fixed loyalsock, the wyalusing trail is marked at the edge of sullivan county close to what used to be the Frasier farm, Mrs. Frasier was a teacher at SCHS. I also fixed the kettle creek gorge natural area from state park. All i have is information that was told me word of mouth by my dad a long time ago. he said it came up the from wyalusing along the creek that runs from colley to that direction then it cut over the old adam's place which is the mountain outside of dushore toward colley is watershed break between the creek that flows toward wyalusing and the creek the creek in dushore. I think the mountain used to be called st. mary's point or something like that. The mountain seems to be part of dutch mountain I think. In any case, it came up over that mountain in the saddle somewhere where bernie kinsley's land is up there and landed in down in that flatland that curves toward dushore. there used to be a very old cabin on that ridge, and there is an old archeology site on the side of that hill where there is an old indian cave. that is just lore though. --Buridan 01:28, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks - your father and Wallace agree as far as I can tell from this map [1] and others. It seems clear the path followed Sugar Run after crossing the North Branch of the Susuquehanna River, and it is clear it followed Muncy Creek pretty much all its length, but in between is less clear. At best, the path only crossed the Loyalsock or tributaries of the Loyalsock near the source (Lopez or east), so World's End and Kettle Creek both seem to me to be much too far off the path to include. I will try to put the Wallace info up and fix the article in the next few days. What I removed (copyvio from Wallace) is still there in the edit history if you want to look at it. - I fixed the text (at least a start) and will clean it up and add some images soon. I moved it here as Wallace and the state historical marker both call it Wyalusing Path. Ruhrfisch 17:54, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
